Eclipse Micromag high intensity magnetic filters are the latest addition to the range of machining equipment offered by 1st Machine Tool Accessories (1st MTA).

Available in Micromag, Filtramag, Automag and Drimag variants, Eclipse filters incorporate powerful rare earth magnets that provide consistent sub-micron particle removal from all types of cutting fluid.

The systems' design eliminates the need for costly consumables, such as filter cartridges, and ensures fluid pressure is maintained, even when the unit is fully loaded with contaminants. Unlike conventional filters, Micromag units are insensitive to particle size and do not cause cutting fluid loss in use.

A simple, purpose-designed tool also enables material to be removed from the unit, in under 30 seconds, for disposal in an environmentally-friendly way.

Micromag filters can be installed at any point in a machine tool's fluid delivery circuit and are available in three standard sizes for flow rates of up to 150 litres per minute and maximum operating pressures of 12 bar.

"With maintenance free operation, no consumable costs and a service life that can be as long as 50 years, Micromag high performance filters are an ideal method of removing the damaging particles that accelerate wear in machine tool pumps, slideways, gears and valves," says 1st MTA's general manager, Catherine Kelly.
