"The new Haas machines impressed everyone who attended our series of Demo Days," says Alain Reynvoet, sales director at Haas Automation Europe (HAE), "and have shown our customers that Haas never stops innovating, even during the most difficult economic period in living memory. Our customers' enthusiastic response to the new, redesigned and improved Haas products makes it clear that better, faster and lower cost CNC machine tools are exactly what they have been looking for."
A selected snap shot of the events shows almost 200 visitors attended the Haas Automation Europe (HAE) Demo Day, in Brussels, Belgium; the German Demo Day event "was a tremendous success" according to Martin Dreher, managing director at Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) – a division of Dreher Werkzeugmaschinen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, with a lot of interest in the new Haas machines; the Swedish HFO (a division of Edströms Maskin AB) also confirmed an upswing in business following its Demo Day; and even in countries whose economies were hit particularly hard by the financial crisis, such as Portugal, the Haas Demo Day events were still very well attended.
The Haas Technical Education Centre (HTEC) program is also benefiting from an increase in enquiries from Europe's schools and colleges following the Demo-Day events.
"The 50 events were also very well attended by teachers and students," says Bert Maes, HTEC Coordinator at HAE. "School representatives were able to see live demonstrations on the new machines and talk to their local HFOs and our industry partners about how they can get involved with the HTEC program. We end this year with 44 schools in the European HTEC network and, partly as a result of the Demo Day events, with many others keen to join us next year. We're aiming for an even more motivating program in 2011, with greater opportunities for international collaborations and exchanges."
